Every breast cancer experience is different. That's why the McGrath Foundation aims to make life that little bit easier for individuals and families experiencing breast cancer.

Ours is a story with simple – but well-known – beginnings. It started with Jane and Glenn McGrath’s very public experience with breast cancer, and has become one of Australia’s most recognised and respected charities, the McGrath Foundation. Jane’s empowering and comforting experience with her own breast care nurse set the mission for the Foundation, which has become an enduring commitment to the thousands of women and men affected by breast cancer.

My breast care nurse allowed me to be Jane McGrath - the friend, the mother and the wife - not just the breast cancer patient. She was someone who could provide both Glenn and I with informed, sensible answers to the many questions we had during the often complicated and confusing treatment process.
— Jane McGrath, Co-Founder McGrath Foundation

The McGrath Foundation raises money to ensure that the thousands of women and men experiencing breast cancer can have the support of a McGrath Breast Care Nurse, no matter where they live – for free.

Our Nurses

The McGrath Foundation now funds 120 McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities across Australia, wherever they're needed – for free.

Since 2005, 64,000 families have been supported by one of our nurses. McGrath Breast Care Nurses help individuals (and their families) affected by breast cancer by providing physical, psychological and emotional support, from the time of diagnoses and throughout treatment.
